A Specialist photographic archive of First Class cricket

Almost certainly the worlds most
comprehensive collection 1859 - 1945

with some coverage 1946-1970

Welcome to one of the most comprehensive collections of cricket photographs, and images, ever assembled. The Roger Mann Collection, which specialises in the period 1750-1945, can provide you with images of most of the first-class players, teams, Test Match action, and overseas tours that shaped cricket’s history. Some coverage of the period 1946-1970 is also provided.

This historical cricket archive features photographs and images of the leading players of every era and of those journeymen whose careers were spent making up the numbers.
It recalls the great County teams of the past 150 years, and almost every touring team to and from all the cricketing nations of the world. Whether your interest is in the professionals’ strike of 1881, the early umpires, Indian cricket under the Maharajahs, the Bodyline tour, great South African all-rounders, or cricket during WW2, you will find plenty to fascinate you here!

Our customers include publishers, newspapers, picture desks, museums, and those who are researching a cricketing ancestor. We work with those who want photographs for their offices or pavilions, for birthday presents, or for adding another dimension to their autograph collections.
In recent times, we have provided photographs, and images, for John Major’s classic
“More Than A Game”, BBC Television’s “Empire Of Cricket”, the A.C.S. series “Lives In Cricket” and many more.

Because this archive is administered more as a retirement hobby than a business, its pricing structure, for the use of images, is often pitched well below that of other picture libraries.
We enjoy working with those who share our love of the game, and welcome enquiries from those whose worthy cause might have been “priced out” elsewhere.
